Ocean /Air Freight Rating Expert– Job Description

At Global Post Auditing Solutions, we partner with Fortune 500 companies to find and fix what others miss—recovering lost dollars through precision auditing. As an Ocean & Air Freight Rating Expert, you’ll play a mission-critical role in uncovering billing discrepancies, interpreting complex rate structures, and ensuring our clients receive every dollar they’re owed.

We’re not just looking for someone to check invoices. We’re looking for someone who sees the patterns, knows the contract language, and thrives in the details—because the difference between “good” and “great” is pennies per pound, and we go for great.

If you’re confident, meticulous, and love solving freight puzzles, this is your seat at the table.

What You’ll Do

As our Ocean & Air Freight Rating Expert, you’ll audit global freight invoices with surgical

accuracy, validate contract compliance, and communicate findings that impact the bottom line.

You’ll be part of a team that values quality over quantity and results over excuses.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Auditing international ocean and air freight invoices to identify overcharges, rate

discrepancies, and contractual violations

• Using freight rating software to ensure billing aligns with complex rate agreements

• Interpreting tariffs, surcharges, and accessorial charges for contract accuracy

• Maintaining audit systems to ensure timely and consistent reviews

• Collaborating with internal teams and carriers to resolve disputes

• Preparing audit summaries that are clear, actionable, and recovery-focused

• Contributing to continuous improvement in accuracy, speed, and efficiency

What You Bring to the Table

You’re methodical, focused, and thrive on precision. You’re not afraid to dig deep, ask questions, and take full ownership of your work.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has 1+ year of direct rate auditing experience (Ocean and/or Air required)

• Brings a strong understanding of freight billing: base rates, fuel surcharges, accessorials,

and contract terms

• Is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using rating software

• Communicates clearly and professionally over email and Zoom

• Can manage a high volume of data while staying organized and on schedule

• Operates with low ego and high accountability—you do what it takes to get it right

• Stays focused under pressure and maintains consistency in detail-oriented environments

• Is analytical, sharp, and ready to uncover what others miss

The Perks:

• 3 Weeks Paid Time Off (prorated your first year)

• Paid Holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,

Thanksgiving, Christmas)

• 401(k) with 3% Match (after 90 days)

• Health Insurance Assistance (after 90 days)

• Bonus Opportunities

• Career Growth with Real Impact
