We’ve seen a lot of AI and software launches that promise a lot and don’t always deliver. Our guiding principle remains simple: we won’t adopt costly tools that don’t move the needle. Honestly, a hard “no” can turn into a confident “yes” when the infrastructure is right.

Let’s talk about A2X and what it means to us in the tech stack

We value the way A2X reconciles merchant payments with sales data. When you get bi-weekly funds from Amazon, the number in your bank doesn’t always line up with your gross product sales because of refunds, fees, and shipping. A2X helps line that up across periods, so your bank balances line up with what hits your P&L. The same goes for Shopify. Aligning gross to net is fiddly work, and doing it without tech can be a real headache for an accountant.

Where A2X can miss the mark

A2X is a tool we’ve wanted to love, but we owe our clients clearer SKU-level visibility. If you’re operating with QBO or Xero alone, using A2X by itself isn’t the whole answer. A2X usually posts revenue and COGS as a single monthly entry, rather than breaking things out by SKU sold across each channel. If you’re using QBO or Xero correctly, you’d ideally want revenue by SKU × gross sales. We’ve often deferred by importing or entering this as an invoice.
