Practicing from a psychodynamic treatment perspective, Maria recognizes the importance of one's background, history, and present struggles. The work between Maria and her clients will always be a collaborative effort, tailored to their needs, and may change as needed over the course of their work together.
Maria helps children, adolescents, couples, and families overcome things like Eating Disorders and Stress and Anxiety which are often related. By helping people better understand their relationship with food and find more inner peace and self security; Maria has helped many people find healing in their body image and overall sense of wellness in their physical (and emotional) bodies.
With an experienced work background in Substance Abuse, Maria is helpful to individuals, couples, and families where alcohol and/or drug addiction has made an impact. Sometimes clients come in to explore their relationship with alcohol or drugs while other times, clients simply want to reduce their desire to drink, to find more clarity and peace in their lives. Maria is also able to provide helpful insight and support to those who have had alcohol or drug abuse around them in childhood and/or present day.
Maria is also passionate about working alongside those who are struggling, stuck, and emotionally suffering especially during Life Transitions like moving to a new area, getting into a new relationship or ending an old one, and changes within a career path.
Maria has always had a heart for helping people better know and love themselves more, identify issues that aren’t working for them, and find self empowerment to create a life they love. Throughout the years, she has helped hundreds of people find confidence in themselves, their careers, and their relationships through a trusting, warm, professional relationship in counseling.
