Sadness and depression can make some people angry and irritable while others lose energy and have trouble functioning. Regardless of how a client's sadness or depression shows, we help clients gain more energy, find more purpose, and overcome what is holding them back.

Many clients come to us feeling stuck, stressed, and overwhelmed. Whether it's a temporary season of stress (like a move or a new position at work) or long term anxiety that's lasted for years, we help clients reduce their worry, find more peace, and better enjoy their lives.

Having a baby is a huge adjustment. Add a slew of hormonal changes, intense fatigue, and (far too often) social isolation, and it's no wonder that Postpartum Depression and Anxiety are so common. Our counselors offer a safe space for mothers to feel support and guide them out.

We are hardwired for connection" as Dr. Brene Brown explains. And yet relationships are often where we feel the most intense kind of emotional pain. Our counselors help clients heal where they have been wounded to create enjoyable.

Death often brings overwhelming emotions which can be incredibly hard to navigate. In the wake of such life-altering loss, our counselors walk beside our clients in their journey. Our counselors are trained to support and guide.

Treating trauma is highly sensitive
and requires a professional with specific training in how to help clients heal.We have extensive experience helping clients heal trauma wounds from emotional abuse, physical abuse.

Children go through emotional difficulties just as adults do, and just like adults, therapy helps them better understand themselves and process their emotions too.But one big difference?

Men face distinct psychological and emotional challenges shaped by societal expectations, cultural norms, and biological factors. Traditional masculinity often emphasizes strength, self-reliance, and emotional restraint, making it particularly difficult for men to acknowledge mental health concerns or seek help.

At various points in life, we all go through times of transition. Whether it’s a move, a divorce, starting a new job, or moving into a new home, change can bring a mix of emotions
“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help and support you gave my child. I’m seeing increased self-awareness, responsibility, and self-advocacy. Thank you for providing such a positive experience!”

We provide a range of counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. What makes counseling with us different than other clinics is in our unique approach to counseling - we don’t just help people reduce their symptoms or feel better temporarily. Instead, all of our counselors are trained in styles of counseling that help people better understand who they are, why they feel the way they feel, and heal from their core. We help people get to the root cause of their depression, anxiety, and more.
Connections Counseling is a self-pay practice. Many counseling centers are moving this direction because insurance often limits the type and length of care clinicians can provide. Being self-pay allows our therapists to focus fully on your needs without diagnoses or session limits being dictated by insurance. We provide a detailed superbill that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Yes, we provide counseling for various issues, including sadness and depression, stress and anxiety, postpartum depression, eating disorders, trauma and PTSD, and more. If you are feeling difficulty in your relationships with others (family, work, romance, friendship, etc) or how you feel about yourself (low self esteem, self doubt, worrying all the time, etc), we can help!
In your first session, the therapist will want to begin getting to know you, your story, what brings you to therapy, what you’ve tried that has helped you feel better and what you’ve tried that hasn’t worked, and what you hope to get out of counseling. Together, our counselors work with clients to build a game plan to help you feel better and enjoy your life and your relationships more.
Yes, our team comprises highly educated, experienced, and compassionate counselors and social workers dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. All of our counselors have earned a bachelors degree as well as a masters level degree at minimum, and several of our counselors have earned multiple degrees and/or certifications. Our staff is constantly staying up to date on latest research and attend conferences together to continue learning and growing.
The duration of therapy varies based on individual goals and issues. Some clients attend for a couple of months while others find a lot of benefit in the weekly support of therapy and continue to meet with their counselor for years. You will likely feel relief within the first few sessions but it takes longer to make deeper, lasting change. Your therapist will work with you to develop a timeline that suits your needs. We don’t force people to stay, and we also don’t kick them out either.
