At Connections Counseling Center, we help couples come back together to find happiness, joy, and love in their relationship. We also help individuals struggling with feeling stuck in relationship patterns - maybe they keep having the same experiences in romantic relationships or keep “dating the same person.” But they don’t know how to get out.
And sometimes, only one side of a romantic partnership is willing to come to counseling to address their emotional pain and get “un-stuck.”
Our counselors are specially trained in Couples Therapy to help with all of the above and more. Our training is in a relational approach to counseling, so we are well versed in things like attachment, vulnerability, communication, and more.
Our therapy counselors are trained in ways to help each person better know their own thoughts, feelings, and needs and learn how to express them to others, especially their partner. We also emphasize each person within the relationship learning how to better understand and connect to their partners thoughts, feelings, and needs. When we better understand where each person is coming from, it's easier to find ways to reconnect.
As couples counselors we also love to help a couple remember what made them fall in love with each other. These kinds of sessions in which we get to highlight those things that brought the couple together can be a very enjoyable experience and something that can't really be recreated outside of a professional counseling environment.
Our counselors often use the Gottman Method and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy techniques in working with couples.

Couples therapy, also known as marriage counseling, is a form of psychotherapy designed to help partners strengthen their relationship by improving communication, resolving conflicts, and deepening emotional intimacy. At Connections Counseling, our therapists utilize evidence-based approaches such as the Gottman Method and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners better understand their emotions, needs, and relational patterns. Whether addressing ongoing challenges or simply enhancing connection, couples therapy provides a supportive space for growth and healing.
Couples seek therapy for various reasons. Some turn to counseling to heal from infidelity or betrayal, while others want to rekindle their emotional and physical connection. Therapy can also help with recurring conflicts, trust issues, or life transitions that put strain on a relationship. Whether facing a significant challenge or simply looking to deepen their bond, couples therapy provides valuable tools to build a stronger, more fulfilling partnership.
Couples therapy sessions are structured to help partners communicate more effectively, identify relationship patterns, and develop healthier ways to resolve conflicts. A therapist facilitates discussions, ensuring each person feels heard and understood, while also introducing strategies to promote trust, emotional safety, and deeper connection. The goal is to equip couples with the skills they need to maintain a stronger, more resilient relationship.
The length of couples therapy varies depending on the concerns being addressed and the couple’s specific goals. Some couples find resolution in just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing therapy over several months. During the initial sessions, the therapist will work with both partners to determine the best timeline for their unique situation.
Absolutely! Couples therapy isn’t just for struggling relationships. Many happy couples use therapy as a proactive way to enhance communication, strengthen their connection, and prevent small issues from escalating. Seeking therapy before major problems arise can help partners build a foundation for long-term happiness and relationship success.Code
