Why Patients Choose Steel City

Protocols Built on Labs — Not Assumptions

No prescription is issued without objective data. Every program begins with a comprehensive hormone panel, and every protocol adjustment is driven by follow-up lab values and symptom response — not generic age-based dosing guidelines.

Services

We provide symptom-guided, personalized treatments that focus on identifying the root cause of your symptoms, not just managing them. Through ongoing care and tailored therapies, we help you feel stronger, more energized, and confident in your health.

TRT for Men

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a clinician-managed program for men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, including fatigue, low libido, brain fog, decreased muscle mass, and mood changes. Treatment begins with a comprehensive hormone panel, followed by an individualized protocol using injectable testosterone, topical creams, or oral testosterone depending on clinical fit. Ongoing lab monitoring and dose adjustments are included. Available via telehealth in all nine licensed states.

“I didn’t realize how bad I felt until I started TRT. My energy, focus, and confidence came back fast, and the results actually stuck. The clinic was responsive, explained everything clearly, and adjusted my plan based on how I felt, not just labs. This has been a total game-changer.”

- Kevin T., 48

HRT for Women

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for women addresses the hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause — including hot flashes, weight gain, low libido, sleep disruption, and mood instability. Protocols are built around estradiol, progesterone, and low-dose testosterone based on individual lab results and symptom burden. Care is fully remote and clinician-directed from first consult through ongoing optimization.

“I finally feel like myself again. My energy is back, my mood is steady, and I’m sleeping through the night for the first time in years. The team actually listened, explained my labs, and built a plan just for me. HRT didn’t just help my symptoms, it gave me my life back.”

- Devin G., 34

Medical Weight Loss

The Steel City GLP-1 Metabolic Optimization Program uses peptides to drive clinically meaningful fat loss through appetite regulation, improved glycemic control, and metabolic recalibration. What separates this program is the Protein Anchoring methodology — a structured approach to preserving lean muscle mass during GLP-1-driven weight loss. Required metabolic lab monitoring is included at baseline and every eight weeks. Available to new and existing patients across all licensed states.

“I’ve tried everything, and nothing ever stuck, until this. The cravings quieted down, the weight finally started coming off, and I didn’t feel miserable doing it. The team checked in regularly, adjusted my plan when needed, and actually cared about my progress. This feels sustainable, not like another quick fix.”

- Laura S., 34

Peptide Therapy

Peptide optimization at Steel City uses clinician-prescribed growth hormone peptides to support recovery, tissue repair, body composition, and metabolic function. Protocols are built around your goals and health status — not a one-size-fits-all stack — with IGF-1 monitoring included to track response over time. Available as a standalone program or as an add-on for existing TRT or GLP-1 members across all nine licensed states.

“I started peptides to improve recovery and energy, and the difference has been night and day. I heal faster, sleep better, and feel stronger in the gym and daily life. The team tailored everything to my goals and adjusted my protocol. This isn’t guesswork, it’s personalized optimization.”

- Jordan P., 43

FAQs

What symptoms indicate I might need hormone therapy?

Common symptoms associated with hormone imbalance include persistent fatigue, low libido, brain fog, difficulty building or maintaining muscle, increased body fat (particularly abdominal), mood changes, irritability, poor sleep quality, and reduced motivation. In women, perimenopause and menopause add hot flashes, night sweats, and irregular cycles. Steel City requires baseline lab work before any diagnosis or treatment recommendation is made, because symptoms alone are not sufficient to confirm hormone deficiency.

How long does it take to see results from TRT or HRT?

"Most patients notice initial changes — improved energy, better sleep, early libido improvement — within two to four weeks of reaching therapeutic hormone levels. More significant changes in body composition, mood stability, and cognitive clarity typically emerge between six and twelve weeks. Optimal results generally require three to six months of consistent dosing and monitoring.

What labs are required before starting treatment at Steel City?

Required labs vary by initiation tier. The Vitality Snapshot (Tier 1) covers Total Testosterone, Estradiol, CBC, and PSA for men or Progesterone for women. The Precision Wellness Consultation (Tier 2) requires a broader panel including CBC, CMP, LH, FSH, Total Testosterone, Free Testosterone, and Estradiol. The Biological Blueprint (Tier 3) includes an 18-marker panel adding IGF-1, HbA1c, fasting insulin, thyroid (TSH), DHEA-S, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, SHBG, Cortisol, and Lipid Panel. All labs must be completed before the consultation appointment.

Can I use insurance for treatment at Steel City?

Clinical services, consultations, and memberships at Steel City are cash-pay only and are not billed to insurance or Medicare/Medicaid. For Tier 2 patients, an insurance lab script can be issued to use insurance coverage for required lab work, though coverage is not guaranteed. Patients on government benefit programs are required to use Rupa Health cash-pay for all lab work.

What is the difference between TRT and HRT?

TRT refers specifically to hormone therapy for men with clinically low hormone levels. HRT is a broader term covering any clinician-managed protocol that restores or balances hormones for men or women, tailored to each patient's labs and symptoms. At Steel City, TRT and HRT are distinct programs with separate protocols, lab requirements, and billing structures, though both are managed by board-certified nurse practitioners via telehealth.

Can a nurse practitioner prescribe testosterone / hormone therapy?

Yes. Nurse practitioners with active prescriptive authority can prescribe testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, and other hormone therapies independently — without physician oversight — in the states where Steel City operates. Jeremiah Velasquez, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC holds dual board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and active prescriptive authority in Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Washington, and Wyoming. Every Steel City patient is evaluated, diagnosed, and managed directly by Jeremiah — not a supervising physician, not a medical director, and not a delegated PA.

What is Protein Anchoring?

Protein Anchoring is a structured nutritional methodology used at Steel City HRT & Weight Loss to preserve lean muscle mass during GLP-1-driven weight loss. GLP-1 medications suppress appetite broadly — which accelerates fat loss but also creates risk of muscle loss if protein intake isn't deliberately maintained. Protein Anchoring establishes minimum daily protein targets based on lean body mass, timed around resistance training, to ensure the weight coming off is fat — not muscle. It is a required component of the Steel City GLP-1 Metabolic Optimization Program, not an optional add-on.

How does telehealth hormone therapy work?

Telehealth hormone therapy at Steel City follows a fully remote process — no in-person visits required at any stage. The process begins with a symptom assessment and lab order. Once baseline lab results are received, a clinical consultation is scheduled via secure video or phone with Jeremiah Velasquez, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC. If hormone therapy is clinically appropriate based on lab findings and symptom burden, a individualized protocol is established. Medications are filled through licensed 503A compounding pharmacies and shipped directly to the patient's home. Follow-up lab monitoring and protocol adjustments are conducted remotely on an ongoing basis. Patients in all nine licensed states — Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Washington, and Wyoming — are eligible to begin remotely.

Is telehealth hormone therapy legitimate?

Yes. Telehealth hormone therapy is a legally recognized and clinically validated care delivery model in all nine states where Steel City operates. Steel City HRT & Weight Loss holds active LegitScript certification — the same independent compliance standard required of major pharmacy chains — and operates under HIPAA-compliant telehealth infrastructure. Jeremiah Velasquez, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC holds active prescriptive authority in each licensed state, meaning every diagnosis, protocol, and prescription meets the same legal and clinical standard as an in-person visit. No prescription is issued without a completed medical evaluation and objective lab data. The care is remote — the standard of care is not.

How much does hormone therapy cost without insurance?

Steel City operates as a cash-pay clinic with transparent, upfront pricing — no surprise charges, no insurance billing, and no hidden fees. Membership fees and any associated medication costs are disclosed before a patient commits to a program. Pricing varies by program type and protocol complexity. Lab costs depend on which initiation tier is selected and whether a patient uses an outside lab, an insurance lab script where eligible, or cash-pay lab ordering through Rupa Health. Patients are never billed for services they did not agree to in advance.

What is a 503A compounding pharmacy?

A 503A compounding pharmacy is a state-licensed pharmacy that prepares individualized medications for specific patients based on a valid prescription from a licensed provider. Unlike mass-manufactured drugs, compounded medications are made to order — allowing for custom concentrations, delivery methods, and formulations that may not be available commercially. 503A pharmacies are regulated at the state level and must comply with USP compounding standards. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as finished drug products, but they are legally prescribed and dispensed under state pharmacy law. Steel City works exclusively with licensed 503A compounding pharmacies to fulfill patient prescriptions. Compounded medications are not manufactured, sold, or dispensed by Steel City directly.

Meet Your Provider

Jeremiah Velasquez, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, is a double board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in hormone optimization and metabolic health. He holds dual certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center — as both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) — and carries active prescriptive authority in nine states.

Steel City HRT & Weight Loss was founded on a straightforward premise: most men and women experiencing hormone-related symptoms are told their labs are normal when what they actually need is a clinician who understands the difference between normal and optimal. Every patient is seen by Jeremiah directly — not handed off to a PA, not managed by an algorithm. Labs drive every protocol decision, and every follow-up is a real clinical conversation.
